Description: Devoid of sentiment but not of romantic allusions, the paintings in this curated selection of works by Trevor Young favor night settings and dramatic lighting. They are unfailingly painterly, often involving complex structures and industrial middle grounds or quasi urban scenes.

3 . Klagsbrun Studios

Exhibit: Collection of Works from 1) ROBIN BELL: Embracing Imperfection, 2) MICHELINE KLAGSBRUN : Recent Work, 3) The TUESDAY NIGHT GROUP: New Work

Description: Klagsbrun Studios are working studios, open by appointment and for neighborhood events, salons and workshops. Robin Bell has created an immersive room at Klagsbrun Studios by expanding his series of 3D projected structures. Micheline Klagsbrun's mixed-media works on paper and sculpture evoke times of transition and memory.

4. Calloway Fine Art & Consulting

Exhibit: Apparitions - photography by Matthew Karas

Description:  Apparitions, a new collection of photography by Matthew Karas, is a creative collaboration with professional dancers, capturing echoes of the past and glimpses into the future using an innovative single-exposure technique, resulting in dream-like meditations that intertwine physical and spiritual forms.

5. Gallery Article 15 

Exhibit: Jubilee d’Or: Celebrating 50 years of Chéri Chérin’s Career

Description: This solo exhibition by Chéri Chérin, one of the fathers of contemporary Congolese art, showcases the artist’s story-telling through paintings of current social and political issues and daily life.  His style reflects the world he embodies: colorful, vibrant, chaotic and often times humorous.

6. Gallery 16Ten 

Exhibit: Uplift

Description: The exhibition Uplift celebrates art’s transformative power, reflecting the vitality and renewal of spring through refreshing botanical elements and the energy of abstractions, showcasing art’s ability to elevate the spirit, much like spring itself.

7. L'Enfant Gallery of Georgetown 

Exhibit: Collection of Works

Description: L’Enfant Gallery are currently rehanging and repainting so come and see our mix of modern, impressionist and old masters. The newly hung third floor staircase hosts a number of important historic portraits under possibly the largest Morano chandelier you have ever seen.

8. Shop Made in DC

Exhibit: SHE:DC

Description: SHE:DC is an initiative to illuminate women and non-binary entrepreneurs, powered by Shop Made in DC. In March, correlating with Women’s History Month, we celebrate and support women and non-binary artists in a variety of events including a curated art show featuring 200+ pieces from 150+ women and nonbinary artists, panel discussions and popups with emerging businesses and a final pitch competition for the SHE:DC Microgrant.

SPRING ART WALK 2025

Art Walk

Join us for a celebration of spring, creativity and art at the Georgetown Spring Art Walk on March 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM -5:00 PM.

 

The event will feature over a dozen local venues showcasing a diverse range of artwork, including photography, paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces.

Throughout the day, you'll have the chance to meet and chat with the artists, learn about their inspirations and creative processes, and purchase unique pieces to add to your collection.

1. Hunter & Huntress

Step into the enchanting world of Hunter & Huntress as they launch their first-ever Artist Market in their backyard. Inside the boutique, you’ll discover an eclectic mix of art, unique treasures, and collectibles, including marble and wooden sculptures handcrafted in San Miguel de Allende.

2. Ally Banks Interiors Collection 

In addition to a wide selection of unique tabletop and home accessories, Ally Banks has a curated collection of vintage, one of a kind artwork. Find moody impressionist paintings, watercolor landscapes and both modern and mid-century abstracts.

3. Pillar & Post

4. The Phoenix

The Phoenix, one of Georgetown’s oldest retailers, is a thoughtfully curated, lifestyle brand located in a space that inspires creativity and wanderlust. During the Art Walk, meet local equine photographer, Sherri Holdridge, and her sister, Kathleen Doyle-Murphy, who will have a jewelry trunk show.

5. Home Court

Home Court DC is a high-end sneaker and streetwear consignment shop. For the Spring Art Walk, two artists will be featured Sara Diani, an Afghan-American artist whose work navigates identity, emotion, and connection, and Xenia Gray,  a contemporary figurative artist who primarily works in mixed media, including oil, acrylic, and charcoal.
